Stoke Stewards Program.
Stoke Stewards is a new Tourism Revelstoke program that helps local tourism businesses take meaningful steps towards sustainability.
Through training, guidance, and project funding, participating businesses will build a sustainability action plan and implement visitor-facing initiatives that strengthen operations and the overall visitor experience.

Learn about tourism operator sustainability from BC experts and work directly with Tourism Revelstoke’s Destination & Sustainability Manager to build a simple, actionable climate plan tailored to your organization.

Unlock up to $4,000 to put toward a visible, visitor-facing sustainability project at your business.

ELIGIBILITY.
Tourism businesses located in the City of Revelstoke and CSRD Area B.
Time Commitment: ~15-20 hours between Sept-Dec 2025
Program Champion: One management-level staff member designated to lead
Participation: Attend all 5 course modules, complete 1:1 meetings, implement your project, and submission of post-project support
WHAT’S INCLUDED.
Full enrollment (covered by Tourism Revelstoke) in Synergy’s Tourism Operator Sustainability Training Course ($500 value). Includes five online modules (1 hour each, Sept-Nov 2025).

One-on-one meetings with Tourism Revelstoke’s Destination & Sustainability Manager to identify and plan your project.
$4,000 in funding towards your chosen sustainability initiative and marketing support to promote your project to visitors.

EV Charging stations at hotels or attractions
Revelstoke branded e-bikes or bike racks for visitors
Water refill stations
Recycling & compost stations with signage
Reusable programs (cups, containers, bottles, bags, etc)
FireSmart initiatives for lodges/attractions
Pollinator/native plant gardens with interpretive signage
Green roofs or landscaping visible to visitors
Sustainability certifications (GreenStep, Green Key, Biosphere, etc.)
Digital/paperless visitor systems (e-menus, ticketing, etc.)
Emergency communications systems for remote operators
